Hey everyone! Last post, I said that there was going to be a Part 2, and here it is! If you didn’t get a chance to read Part 1, click here.
So, while researching for this part, I came across the term non finito, which is a fancy way of saying left unfinished on purpose. The three different types of unfinished art are non finito, the abandoned, and the perpetually unfinished. Here’s a link to a neat website that explains these terms in more detail. I especially like the explanation of the unfinished painting Madonna with the Long Neck.

On to my non finito gray wolf drawing. As in my brown wolf non finito, I started with the eye. I also started on the fur around the eye.
I then expanded on the fur around the eye.
The fur never ends!
I then moved on to the ear and expanded the fur again.
And you’re done! Tell me what you think! Do you like non finito works of art? Should I do more? Which wolf drawing is your favorite? Is this whole thing just nutty as a fruitcake? Let us know in the comment section, and keep on the lookout for new posts!

Non finito does keep the viewer guessing as to what the actual image is supposed to be. In this example, it is not readily apparent that it is a wolf. Therefore the imagination is free to wander. The first couple of drawings made me think of an owl’s eye. The one still does not scream “WOLF” but could be a number of other animals. Which pathway will my imagination wander down?

That’s neat how a non finito can look differently to different people :).

BTW–I don’t think my UFO’s are in the non finite category but more in the incompiuta category.
