Hey everyone! Time for some good old fashioned book talk. In honor of the recently passed total solar eclipse, I decided to dig out a book series with the coolest moon-dwelling characters I’ve seen: The Lunar Chronicles.
The Lunar Chronicles came out in 2012 with American author Marrisa Meyer’s Cinder. Cinder is based roughly on CInderella, but with an awesome twist. The main protagonist, Cinder, is a cyborg, looked down on by bother her stepmother and society. Also, there are space creatures called Lunars who can manipulate the bioelectricity of people and control them and their own appearences with glamours.
I really enjoyed this series and recommended it to Kathleen, who devoured it as quickly as I had. Then she showed me some of her drawings of the covers. They’re nearly picture-perfect.
This first drawing she did is of the cover of Cinder, the first book in The Lunar Cronicles. I love how the cybernetics look like actual human bones.
The next drawing is of the cover of the final book in the series, Winter. Winter is loosely based off Snow White and tells the story of a Lunar girl who refuses to use her Lunar gift (manipulating bioelectricity.)
Kath and I both loved this series. If you have any book recommendation for us, let us know down below and keep on the lookout for new posts!
