Hey everyone! Posts about Pittsburgh were promised, and here they are! This is the first. So during out 24-hour Pittsburgh trip, Kathleen and I stopped to check out one of the colleges. There are three colleges that we had heard of in the Pittsburgh area: the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon, and Carlow University. The signature building at the University of Pittsburgh is the Cathedral of Learning.
The Cathedral of Learning was commissioned in 1921 by Pitt Chancellor John G. Bowman. It has forty-two stories and is 535 feet tall. It’s the final word on Gothic-style architecture. In the Cathedral Commons Room, the ceilings are Fifty-two feet (four stories) high.
That’s all for now! I really had a blast touring the campus with Kathleen. If you want to learn even more about the college itself, feel free to check it out at http://www.pitt.edu/
