Painting Birds

Hey everyone! For Christmas, we got a new bird feeder, and since then, we’ve had tons of birds come to visit. From chickadees to cardinals, to red-bellied woodpeckers and bluejays. So, keeping in the spirit of our fabulous feathered friends, Kath decided to paint a few of them.

This cardinal was actually the very first stretched canvas painting that Kathleen’s ever done. It was done with acrylics.

This bluejay was done on an 11-by-14 canvas with acrylics.

Lastly, Kath painted this cool hummingbird. Technically, hummingbirds don’t come to our feeder (because they feed on nectar from flowers or special just-for-hummingbird feeders) but it still is a nice painting.

Off the topic of painting birds, I’m in a bit of a painting slump at the moment. I have all the paint and canvas board (11-by-14) I need for a great painting, but I’m fresh out of ideas. If you’d like to make a suggestion, drop it in the comments section, and who knows? Maybe one of your painting ideas will be featured on our blog!

That’s all for now! Keep on the lookout for new posts!
